Abu Dhabi group to produce 160km/h electric car

I've just read in the Gulf Times that Abu Dhabi-based Baynuna Group is negotiating with Mubadala Development, 'the capital's investment company', to supply advanced electric cars. Baynuna say that they've signed a deal with French company, Dassault, involving 10,000 electric cars.

The plan is to jointly produce an EV that can operate on clean power with a speed of 160km/h. Baynuna will produce the engine, battery and aircon while Dassault will produce the rest of the car.

The aim is reportedly to use these vehicles for taxis, public transport and government cars, so it's clearly going to be a bit of a shock to the system for the government ministers who are used to cruising around in gas-guzzling limos.

It's been incredibly difficult to find out more about this story, so if anyone can direct me to some good links I'd be most grateful. With start-up EV companies in Europe and the US fighting to get funding, I'm sure this is one start-up that won't be short of cash and may take some of the rest by surprise in a market that is more aware than Dubya that the oil can't last for ever.
