Nissan boss isn't alone in backing Toyota's move to invest in electric cars
Ghosn feels auto makers need to take a three-pronged approach to addressing the new market that is unfolding in the age of mass produced EVs. "One, they need to be in all technologies from electric vehicles to diesel; two, they need to be in emerging markets, especially China, and 3, they need to have vehicles in each segment." Funny no mention of eco-auto-booming India.
Electric cars to be sold by Apple-style 'geniuses'
This item just shows that I wasn't so far off the mark with my previous posting about geeks making the best electric car salesmen. More than that, its CEO Kevin Czinger says "We are looking at this not as a new-car-model introduction, but as a new technology introduction."
GM's electric car that can drive itself
And if you’re worried about how it deals with pedestrians, you can relax. Using vehicle-based sensor and camera systems, the EN-V can ‘sense’ what’s around it, allowing the vehicle to react quickly to obstacles or changes in driving conditions. So if a pedestrian steps out in front of the vehicle, the EN-V will decelerate to a slower and safer speed and stop sooner than today’s vehicles.
Next generation vehicle architecture or the first LEGO car? You choose.
Just imagine how it would be if you could design your own electric vehicle with all the motor, battery and drive train basics built in. The modular TREXA EV lets you do just that. It provides a low profile base - known in the trade as a 'skateboard' - with all that stuff built in and you just stack whatever you want on top, so not only does it look the way you want, but you get to specify the acceleration, suspension and speed.
The electric car you can take on a train
the release refers to it as a lightweight 'lovebug' ... Steady on, chaps! Just because it has a joystick instead of a steering wheel there's no need for that sort of language.
